a sweet and zesty birthday cake for my mum, 6 layers of honey and lemon cake filled and covered with honey buttercream. yummy.

sprinkles rainbow anniversary cake

vanilla cake, filled with vanilla buttercream and covered with chocolate buttercream...and many, many sprinkles.

covering a cake with sprinkles is actually quite frustrating, but the end result is so fab, though the end result of 100's and 1000's all over the kitchen tops and floor is also quite fun! if you want to attempt this yourself, I do recommend doing the sprinkling over a large bowl to catch the majority of the sprinkles!

christmas cake 2012, a late posting!

a late addition to the blog I know, catching up on my posting and just got to december! last years christmas cake, though it was so large it lasted well into this year! delicious boozy fruit cake, covered with a thin layer of marzipan and the fondant...decorated with fondant and royal icing, design inspired by a trip to fortnum's prior to christmas :)

roulette wheel cake

a 40th birthday casino themed party, to be topped off with a roulette wheel cake! the cake was a zesty zingy cake, filled and covered with lemon buttercream. Then decorated with hand rolled fondant and royal icing. At 12" the cake was large enough to feed 60-70 people.

mickey mouse cake

mickey mouse 1st birthdat cake, a 6" chocolate cake with vanilla buttercream.  Topped with a fondant mickey mouse face and edged with coloured fondant balls.

a teddy bears picnic

a small cake to say a big thank you.  had some spare batter and icing from an order, and had a thank you to say, and what better way than in cake format!  with plenty of fondant 'ice' for some little fingers to pick at!
